Young Leaders
The Young Leaders’ Scheme is a fantastic opportunity for young people aged 14–18 to step into leadership roles within our Scout sections (Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, or Scouts).
Young Leaders are Explorer Scouts who volunteer alongside adult leaders, helping run activities, supporting younger members, and developing their own skills. It’s a brilliant way to build confidence, learn leadership skills, and make a real difference—while having lots of fun, too!
As part of the scheme, Young Leaders complete a series of training modules and practical missions, covering everything from how to run games and activities to supporting different types of learners. Completing the scheme can also count towards other awards, such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award or the Chief Scout’s Platinum and Diamond Awards.
At Eastwood Scouts, we’re proud to support our Young Leaders as an important and valued part of our leadership teams.
